I got back to La Crosse, I think it was December, and it was ice cold. So, I moved down to Albuquerque, N.M., and got a job there at a pharmaceutical company.
I think the hurricane kind of passed through there and knocked the power out, but I wouldn't have gone north through Mississippi if I had known the hurricane was going through there. But looking back, it was a good thing.
It was something I always wanted to do I guess. You get to see a lot and give while you're around the world and become a part of another culture instead of just seeing it in a book.
It's funny the things you realize you don't have when you pack to leave for a day. I just threw a couple of things in the back seat, but I wish I had packed some of my pictures.
It's just a rodent out in the forest, but it was probably a rat, and it tasted pretty good. I was eating it in this chop bar and I think I was about to leave and they wanted to treat me to it, because getting bush rat is kind of a nice thing.
