We're looking forward to Test match cricket. We believe we can make an impact. The belief within the group that they can perform against the Black Caps has been very firm.

I think we didn't play moments well, and we created a lot of moments to take the Test.

Over the time that I've been here, I certainly think we've improved and progressed in different areas. We're creating opportunities to win Test matches...(and) this was a game that was there for the taking.

In the four innings he's played, he's got out four different ways. A pull shot, bowled behind his legs, caught in slips and a drive caught at point - it's not something that's consistent.

Our batting didn't show the application that was needed we didn't bowl as well in the areas as we did in Auckland our catches that we dropped cost us.

It gave us a look at what he could do at Test level. He certainly showed he's more than capable with the bat (scores of 22 and 40 in modest totals) and I'm also happy he fits in the team.

The ground is pretty damp, especially around the wicket area. We need sunshine to help dry it out. If we don't get any, I really can't see conditions improving.

There are a number of players I suppose in the side that have got reasonable experience, having been around international cricket for quite some time.

It's another big tour and more big opportunities. We are focused on playing good, hard cricket.

We believe we have been working hard. Behind the scenes people probably don't see a lot that goes on.

We can't just keep calling it 'we'll be better with experience', we've got to start turning this around, I think we're getting closer but still not getting to the goal.

I think tonight we just did not play very smart at all. We were in a good position from our batting perspective but there were some things with our bowling as well, they were all combined. It was not any one person's fault or any one person's non-performance, it was a combination of a number of things.

We would appreciate as many resources as we can get.

He can't bowl at this stage, but his form in Australia warrants that he will certainly be considered as a batter, probably at number six.

We picked a squad for the one-day series and we'll be sticking to it.
