After taking such a birth, O Arjuna, one regains the knowledge acquired in the previous life, and strives again to achieve perfection. |
Alas! We are ready to commit a great sin by striving to slay our kinsmen because of greed for the pleasures of the kingdom. |
All actions in their entirety culminate in knowledge. |
All beings follow their nature. Even the wise act according to their own nature. What, then, is the value of sense restraint? |
All beings in this world are in utter ignorance due to the delusion of dualities born of likes and dislikes, O Arjuna. |
All sorrows are destroyed upon attainment of tranquillity. The intellect of such a tranquil person soon becomes completely steady. |
All these (seekers) are indeed noble, but I regard the wise as My very Self, because the one who is steadfast becomes one with the Supreme Being. |
All works are being done by the energy and power of nature, but due to delusion of ego people assume themselves to be the doer. |
Also know, O best among the twice born, the distinguished ones on our side. I name the commanders of my army for your information. |
Always perform your duty efficiently and without attachment to the results, because by doing work without attachment one attains the Supreme. |
Among the feminine nouns I am fame, prosperity, speech, memory, intellect, resolve, and forgiveness. |
Among the knowledge I am knowledge of the supreme Self. I am logic of the logician. |
Among them the wise one, who is ever united with Me and whose devotion is single minded, is the best. Because, I am very dear to the wise, and the wise is very dear to Me. |
An intelligent person does not take part in the sources of misery, which are due to contact with material senses. Such pleasures have a beginning and an end, and so the wise man does not delight in them. |
And many other heroes who have risked their lives for me. They are armed with various weapons, and all are skilled in warfare. |
