There's guys hitting at the lower end of our order here hitting seventh, eighth and ninth that when they were in high school were their No. 3 hitter and were their star high school player.

He still has a lot of contacts back there and knows a lot of the people. Somebody recommended [Miller], and we were able to go watch him and liked what we saw.

We were in need of a potential back-up catcher, but we also knew that he was pretty versatile. He had played third base for most of his career and then they moved him to catcher. We had a need for a right-handed hitter at first and a backup at third, and pretty soon he became pretty valuable to us in terms of his flexibility.

This was a tough day to play, especially with the wind conditions. Today was a good test of attitude and staying focused.

If Jack Nicklaus had a 1-wood, I think he would have had trouble getting it out of here.

It is a tremendous honor for him and very well deserved. What he did as a player here was simply amazing. His mention on the initial ballot is great for our program and for this university.

We end up with a couple two-out hits tonight that we didn't get this past weekend. And the one error that they made really was a momentum changer.

I thought Josh Barrera did a very, very good job as a starter tonight.
