Noelle shoots 55 or 56 percent. So the more shots you get her, the better off you'll be. Concordia did a nice job of keeping the ball out of her hands in the first half, but fortunately for us she was able to get going in the second and ended up having a nice game. |
Paul pitched his best game of the year. He only gave up three runs. Unfortunately, we only got one. |
Regis has an outstanding three-point shooting team. It will be a real challenge for us to get out to that three-point line and guard their shooters. |
That's what good teams are supposed to do, especially when they're at home. Good teams always have an answer when they're at home. We had four quick points, and then we didn't really score again for the next several minutes. They really played well for about six minutes there in the first half, and we had some problems executing on our end. |
These seniors helped get us 24 wins and into the post-season national tournament. They brought the program back to the level where we always want to be. |
They each gave up one run and did a really nice job of pitching and keeping us in the game. We didn't get enough hits. It was a very good baseball game and very well pitched and played on both sides. |
They got a couple of buckets late. But we also had some really good looks at the basket down the stretch, and we just couldn't get any to go down. We were down by 16 in the first half and came back, and we played really well in the second half to get back in it. We just couldn't make the shots at the end. |
They played pretty good defense. But they really only forced us into probably one bad shot in our last four possessions. We just had some open shots that wouldn't fall. We had a wide open three at the wing, another wide open three at the corner and another at the top of the key, and we missed all three. That was one of the big things that hurt us, was our perimeter shooting. Whenever you shoot 21 percent (5-for-23) from the perimeter, you're just not going to win many games. Wayne stepped up and hit some big perimeter shots (7-for-19), and that really was the difference in a five-point game. |
We are a young team and there will be growing pains but we will get better. |
We are very excited about this large recruiting class. I feel we are bringing in some guards that can help us immediately and some forwards and centers that will probably be our front line of the future. These players are not only good basketball players but most have excelled in different sports. |
We beat a good baseball team. It was a win we needed. We got the runs when we had to get them. |
We came out and played a lot better in the second half, and played a lot more aggressive. We just had a hard time stopping them in the first half. They made a lot of good shots and really hustled. Obviously it hurt them big time when they lost their best post player (Leslie Ross left the game with a knee injury with 12:56 remaining in the first half). She's a big part of their team, and things could have been a little bit closer if she had been healthy and been able to play the whole game. It's unfortunate that she got hurt. |
We did a good job of keeping our composure when they made the run on us in the second half. Noelle Hall had some big baskets down the stretch for us, which is what we needed her to do. |
We did swing the bats pretty decent in game one. We played from behind but were able to make a nice comeback. The game was close for most of it. |
We didn't get a lot of hits and didn't get a lot of scoring opportunities. When we did get runners, we had a hard time scoring them. |
