The gain in oil prices was a by-product of what happened to the gasoline inventories.

The risk premium on oil prices will continue to remain strong as long as supply flow problems, as in the case of Iraq, exist.

The situation between Russia and Ukraine is a rather (supportive) factor for oil ... as the potential for (gas) supply disruption in Europe is having a correlating effect on other energy commodities including oil.

Investors are now going to build a higher risk premium into their bottom line.

Concern about supply means the risk premium in prices is on the rise. Iran is the major problem, but Nigeria coming on top makes matters worse.

Fundamentally we should go down because of the demand outlook related to weather.

Prices haven?t fallen by much because of the heavy refinery maintenance seen around March, which still raises some concerns over supply particularly for gasoline.

As the winter season draws out to a close this quarter, the focus will be on gasoline stocks especially since demand has improved on-year.

The release will definitely be sufficient. Extra supply from government sources means I'm bearish about crude oil prices this week.

We might see a bigger drawdown than the market consensus. I expect refining rates to have gone up last week.

Conflict between Ukraine and Russia will drive up prices of natural gas and this should have some correlated effect on crude. The only leverage that Ukraine has is that the pipeline to Europe goes through its territory.

The use of heating oil is 17 pct down in the Northeast (US) ... this would mean less demand and a downward push on prices.

A disruption could cause crude prices to really sky rocket.

The big one-day drop on Wednesday was a reaction to the stronger-than-expected build in crude and product stocks, while demand remained weak.
