It becomes very important that you have as many players as possible. |
It doesn't matter how you do it or how it looks, but you just have to win. As a home game, it was probably a necessary win. The NCAA is probably going to take six teams from the ACC, so we just have to stay in the mix. |
It really hurts to lose today, but from my perspective, there are certainly years when you get away and appreciate the team you had. |
It was a big game for both teams, (FSU) got the win, and there's no reason why they shouldn't be an NCAA Tournament team. I think they can get in (the NCAA Tournament) and do some damage. |
It was a labor of love, and it was the toughest ticket to get. Guys still talk about it and say that was one of their favorite events at this rodeo. |
It was a really good team effort tonight. Obviously, this has been a tough week and it's been pretty hard to keep my focus, so it must be for the players also. |
It was important for us to get a quality win. Hopefully, this is a building block. |
It'll cover expenses to a certain extent but there are going to be some costs we have to pick up. We don't know how that's going to work out, |
It's a great time of the year for all of the teams. To see how we finish, how many games we can win in the last couple of weeks, it really tests your team. |
It's a tough thing because I thought our guys did a good job this year to win 19 games. A lot of times 19 wins are rewarded by going to the NCAA. |
It's frustrating that you don't get that win. I think any game I've ever coached I thought we could win. We've won games believing like that. |
It's kind of a thank-you type of thing for our fans. It's all about practice tomorrow. Tonight, it's just a good time for everybody. |
It's tough. Physically, it's got to be tough. But if you do get in that situation where you have to play (Thursday), I'm sure every team believes they can play four games and win the thing. |
Just to get that thing to six at halftime took a lot of effort. I've seen that before. You're almost in a trap in a situation, where their best scorer (Grier) doesn't play, they lose a game probably everybody in Minnesota thought they should have won. ... Good teams come back after a situation like that, and we happened to be the next game. |
No one feels worse than Chris about this situation, but you beat yourself up as a coach thinking there's some way this can be avoided, because I'm not used to this. It's something we certainly will continue to look at, and see if there are ways we can improve what we do. |
