I kind of get it second hand sometimes, the stuff that is going on. You take in everyone's physical fitness and mental fitness when you are picking a team. Somebody's mental fitness could be affected by a family illness or a death in the family; you take that into consideration. If you feel that people can handle all of that and they are physically right, then you pick the team. I have spoken to John now and then over the last two or three weeks. |
I lived in England for 21 years and I know that everybody, apart from some of the teams that think they might get relegated, would love Celtic and Rangers to be in the English League. I think it will happen eventually. |
I think Alex and I can both switch off as managers, and we both understand that someone has to lose. Sometimes the problem is how you handle it after the game, as a winner and a loser. That can be difficult when it is someone close to you. |
I think I will have Roy next season. He loves it at the club and I can't see him leaving. It's just fitness that counts. Fitness, speed, motivation -- if you've got that then fine. |
I took Hearts seriously even before a ball was kicked, |
I was wondering how they were going to be. But they are absolutely buzzing. |
I went to see him and I didn't see too many managers clambering over from Britain to watch him, |
I will decide on that, but he is still captain. |
I'd like to get home and sit down and let it sink in. |
I'm just going to crumble like a wreck. I'll go home, become an alcoholic and maybe! jump of a bridge. |
I've got more important things to think about. I've got a yogurt to finish by today, the expiry date is today. |
I've never thought about it that much; I just try to have a plan of how to play the game. Within that plan you have to take teams that are good at defending physically and make them think. In the first half we didn't make Hearts think enough. We made them defend physically, which they handled. We made them think more in the second half. Again, you just can't play the one way all the time. If the team you play against can get in that mentality, then all they have to do is defend. If you can make opponents think, then defend physically, then think... that is what you are trying to achieve that with your team. |
If I said to you we're signing Vieira you'd say 'what a signing that is', |
If I say anything at all there will be headlines all over the place. |
If I'd spoken to the media about him, it could have been misinterpreted by Roy. I only wanted to speak to him about it. I sat down with him for two hours when we met and if Roy thought there was anything in my body language which said I didn't really want him, then he wouldn't be here. |
