It was better than last time. That's the point of spring, get better each time out.

When I came to spring last year, I was more concerned with seeing how my arm felt. I couldn't do what I wanted to do. My head is a lot more clear than it was last year.

I gave up a few more hits than I wanted to, but I got in my running backing up the bases.

I threw 72 pitches and every one of them was strong. I'm right where I want to be. I had runners in scoring position but made some good pitches. I was able to minimize the damage.

Last year, I think I used to beat myself up too much after some bad starts. If I had a good one, I didn't give myself credit. I was always constantly knocking myself down. This year, I'm going to enjoy some games.

I knew right away. It popped and it's never a good thing when you hear something pop. Right now, it's pretty sore, and it doesn't feel very good at all.

That sixth inning, I got the ball up a little bit and they were hitting it pretty hard.

We wanted to win today, get the magic number down to one. I felt good, but in the sixth inning I got the ball up a little bit.
