Last week's deal was definitely unfortunate,

The whole night was like Russian roulette. You just wait for a tire to blow out and hope it wasn't yours.

We were actually pretty good, ... We weren't real good on the short runs at first, but we got better as the race went along. We kept adjusting on it. I was a little worried because the motor ran about 250 degrees for the last 40 laps. It's cool in a 500-mile race to have an engine run like that. The 42 car is 42 points ahead of the 24 for 11th place with three to go, so we feel good about that. That's another top 10, but we'd really like to win one of these last three.

Honestly, last Monday, when I spoke with Chip, I really felt that I was going to be in the 42 car next year, and I was fine with that because I had signed a contract that said that's where I was going to be,

Yeah, you somewhat hoped that things would get worked out, but I wasn't counting on it.

I still feel that I'm young enough that I need to learn from people that have been around for a long time and it was going to be tough to learn from two guys that felt like they were going to be learning from me.

I don't know what happened. The 37 ran into me after the caution came out. There's a reason that guy doesn't have a ride and I guess he showed us why tonight.

There are a lot of people that have one coming. This could be the night.

There couldn't be a better fit for me. We will take it to the next level in 2006. I'm ready to go.

If people above me get things worked out, and it happens, I would rather be at Roush Racing next year because that's where my future is, ... And it's getting kind of tough to stay with a team you know you're not going to be with the following year. You still get in and drive your guts out and give 100 percent, but if I had my choice, I'd rather be at Roush next year.

Well, we just had a very tough weekend. Our car wasn't great, but it wasn't bad, either. It's hard to take when you run 490 laps and have a flat tire with 10 to go.

To run 25th in a Cup car is hard. To run in the top 10 in a Busch or Truck race is still hard, but it's just not the same level.

There was a lot of pressure. I wasn't with one of the best Busch teams. When I got in Sterling's car, it had won two races that year. I knew the car was there, the team, the pit crew and everything. I was fortunate.
