I'll never forget the fact that he was in our locker room after that game, ... Never. That's a highlight of my life. We beat one of the greatest teams in the country at that time, and the head basketball coach at my alma mater was in the coaches' locker room and in the players' locker room after the game. It doesn't get any better than that for me. |
I'm not looking for excuses, I'm looking for reasons to win. |
I'm really proud of this team because they kept playing. They didn't lose their poise after going down early in the second half. I think that's just a characteristic of our football program. |
I'm sure some of them were very disappointed, |
I've never seen so many flags fly in a game. |
If I seem a little goofier to you next year, you'll understand why. |
If we play a complete game, we'll have a good chance to win, ... We've been able to do that in every game we've played so far. |
In the spring we added things to our defense. That was multitasking, |
Is that a burgundy shirt, Woody? |
It really shows what kind of kids we have in our program, ... I'm really pleased with what our kids did relative to getting together right away, with Jesse Holley being the leader of that group, to raise money. That is absolutely terrific. |
It started with the fans, the atmosphere, |
It starts with the fans. (Last season) it started with the atmosphere and then it came down to making some plays. Coming up with some defensive turnovers. And then it grew. |
It's a giant concern, ... He has not gone through a training camp. It's not just a concern for his shoulder; it's overall. We can't simulate that in practice. If we put him in there as a scout back, we could hit him and simulate it, but I'm not going to do that to him. We'll save that for the game. |
It's great to have those relationships and great to have those kids on our campus, |
It's not just another game. It's a very, very important game. |
