 Adam is a guy who still has tremendous velocity. But he still has to change speeds and pitch to location much like most pitchers do.

 Bear has three quality pitches and a real feel for pitching. What really stands out is that he can execute under pressure situations. He has a composure on the mound and a competitive edge that sets him apart.

 Both of them have looked very good.

 By all indications, everything worked very well.

 He could be a valuable player coming off the bench for us.

 He could be there at some point this year.

 He'd probably acknowledge he took that approach in big-league camp. But he's really become more comfortable with his surroundings in the clubhouse and on the field.

 He's come along very quickly. He could possibly move to the next two levels next season, so that tells you what we think of him.

 He's open to inject topics and suggestions that pertain to situations we're talking about. He's a very giving person. He's going to help players making their way to the Major Leagues.

 He's understanding his capabilities as a pitcher. He's come to understand what his limits are in terms of attacking hitters. He's become more adept and aware.

 He's working on his endurance, to be able to play a 140-game season. That can be a physical challenge.

 His range has been solid in the field; he's running and moving well. And his at-bats have been very consistent. He looks like he did when we first signed him. He's back on track.

 I first saw Kelly when he was catching for Baylor, and I was the pitching coach at Oklahoma State. You could see that he had a presence behind the plate. You could tell then that he had a chance to play in the big leagues.

 I was really proud of the way we were distributing the ball tonight. We did a great job passing the ball into the post and I think that's what we're all about – just hit the open girl and play hard on defense. Horizon has improved a lot, too, so we wanted to make sure we came in here and got the job done.

 In Arizona (last fall), he was facing better competition, and that required him to use all of his pitches more. That's helped him this spring, and he's looked very good down here.
