We know they're both going to do a great job and Patrick did a great job of coming in and being professional all year. He knew sooner or later we were going to need him, and call on him, and he was ready to step in when we did.

We said we had to win five in a row. We've got four done ... feels a lot better than it did at 5-6. We're playing at a high level at the right time and what we've got to do is get to the big dance and see what happens at that point. All we're asking for is a shot.

I don't think that's something that you ever get past or get over, and I don't think it's something you should get past or get over. It's something you learn to deal with, but I think it's driven him to work on some things that he feels he needs to work on. And also make a push for staying that No. 2 and making a push for No. 1, whether it's at the end of this year or next year or whether it's somewhere else.

Having the casts helped me focus. I had to be perfect with my technique or I was in trouble.

People remember what it was like the first time Joe Gibbs was here. They are just anticipating that this will be the second go-around of the same thing. That's what we're hoping for as well and we're gearing up for it.

Ray did a tremendous job. He played well. We counted on him on big plays when he had to pull and block front side, and he did a terrific job.

It's going to be huge.

We've really set ourselves up for a good stretch here. We've accomplished a lot this year. We set a good foundation, and that's something we can build on.

We've got more work to do. The excitement is fun and it will last for a little while, but we've got some goals that are still out there.

I think he's been validated. Everybody was talking last year about how he was a 'system' back and maybe didn't fit our system and wasn't going to be productive here. But here we are at 10-6, going to the playoffs, and he's a 1,500-yard back. Those questions are answered.

It's been real hard. There's been a lot of changes, a lot of turmoil, personally and professionally. So it's very gratifying to come out of all that.

Our backs have been against the wall for a long time, which isn't the case for a lot of playoff teams. We're comfortable with that situation, so I think going into the playoffs maybe we have a slight advantage in that regard.

This is gratifying because it's been so long. I'm looking forward to seeing the fun guys have in the locker room this week because I remember how much fun I had the last time.

I can't count how many alter egos I've met. The only one I care about is the one that shows up on Sundays. That's the one we've had for 16 weeks. That's the guy we're hoping shows up for four more.

It was exciting because it was my rookie year. We obviously had a terrific season and won the division and things seemed to be going real well. Just to have things fall apart like that in the second half, you realize to some extent what home-field advantage means.
