It's big. It's something we talked about after the USC game -- finishing our successful season on a good, positive note. Now the people still in our program have something to shoot for. |
It's fun to see all the hard work and his vision that he had for himself. |
It's going to be great exposure for our conference, |
It's good to be 1-0 for the first time in three years. |
It's great to get over that hurdle. |
It's more significant because from here on the games get bigger. We finished non-conference 3-0 with a win over a ranked team. We treat every week as championship week. Our next game against Washington is another big week. We treat each opponent the same, we want to go out there and put it all on the line. |
It's really opening with two openers in not knowing what your opponent is going to do. |
Jim is considered one of the top line coaches in the business. We are excited to have him return to UCLA. He has a wealth of experience at both the collegiate and professional levels and has enjoyed success throughout his career. |
Jim is well-versed in our offense. |
Just his experience alone is a big factor. He's in his third year in our offense and he knows it better than anyone. |
Look, we're not a finished product by any means and we're still in that shadow, ... But we are gaining some momentum. |
Make one or two more plays than they do. |
Matt Willis has had more practice time, and he's the one that will be in that position. |
Maurice Drew was phenomenal -- as usual. |
Maurice is our lead horse, so to speak, but we have some young players who have played in big games. We also have depth at quarterback. Drew has done a tremendous job. We're hoping that's the case for the extended portion of this year, for him to continue the success in decision-making and all those great things he's doing. |
