It's been a long time for these athletes, since we got started practicing back at the beginning of August. With junior teams, it is all told early in the season, for which teams can stay away from the most mistakes.

We've worked hard and we are ready to see how we are going to be this season.

We're ready to line up against someone other than ourselves.

We made a few defensive adjustments and settled down after we got our first touchdown.

The game was won in the second half as our offensive line began to control the line of scrimmage and time of possession.

We also had several players that rotated in defensively that gave us the opportunity to rest several starters.

The support from the community was fantastic. I can't say enough about the desire and heart that these Mohawk athletes gave at this game.

The Junior Mohawks defense played really good tonight. They came out and were aggressive and hitting hard from the start. The offense had three other drives deep into the Junior Warriors territory, but we could not score.

As always, we appreciate the support we receive from the fans that were able to make the long trip to EPC.

The boys played extremely hard all night. Cross County is a very talented team with size and speed on their side. Our offensive line did a nice job in pass blocking. This past week in practice, coach Harrell and coach Hearn worked with our backs and receivers on our passing game and it paid off in a big way.

The way the students and community come out and are very vocal with works of encouragement for the team is great. We, the coaches, are very pleased with the heart and desire that the players give on every play.

At half time, coach Shawn Hearn made some changes in our secondary that really helped our pass coverage. Coach Harrell and I made some offensive adjustments with our blocking schemes and formations.

We had tremendous fan support and the atmosphere during the game was exciting. The team was ready to play and gave it their all.

The coaching staff could not have been more proud of the way the team played, even if we would have won. We would have been happier, should we have won, but not more proud.

Our defense set our offense up with great field position all night.
