With a little bit of racing luck and a little bit of staying on top of our game and not let the big picture get away, we could do the same thing we did last year.

When you're a team that's won a championship, people look at you and how you did it and what your approach could be.

You can still be a competitor and be well-rounded. You've got to have that edge on the track. It's just a matter of flipping a switch and becoming a good guy with your public image.

But the final 10 and the intensity and pressure and anxiety to get to the racetrack and to have a solid finish . . . the final 10 is definitely so intense that you can wear yourself out before you even get there.

[Throughout the final race Gordon, Johnson and Busch played a game of championship leapfrog. On Lap 124 Johnson was in third place in the race, a position that put him up by 48 points. By Lap 178 Gordon was in third place and atop the standings by 36 points. It's been a tough few weeks with running into SAFER barriers, luckily, and researching with NASCAR what type of G-force my body's been through, ...
