A crash like this is a glaring reminder of how fragile our system is and how there is no back up. We're at near-gridlock at every single rush hour. When we get a major incident like this, we're at a complete standstill.

A few stations are going to be out for a few hours, maybe a day, but they will get their deliveries and there'll plenty of gas for motorists in our region.

Frankly, we're perplexed. You'd like to see prices about this time of the year fairly low in anticipation of the summer cost increases. Unfortunately, they're already in the stratosphere and still headed north.

Perhaps the hallmark of the year appeared to be a realization that we can't let transportation deteriorate any further.

Someone needs to be asking the questions. How many lives do we have to lose? How many trucks are going over these overheads over the highways, and what can we do?

That's why we are in such bad straits. The traffic has gotten much worse over time, and I think these figures tell some of that story.

The rise in computer-related crimes and the technology used in these crimes is hard to keep up with. These classes help us with the mechanics; they're like road maps on computer forensics.

There seems to be a good supply of gas. The governor's office sent out a release that there is a one-and-a-half to two-week supply of gas on hand in Virginia, so there is no reason for fears about a shortage of gas or gas lines.

They ought to just say what it is -- it's a fundraiser. They've gotten very good at fundraising on the backs of motorists. Now it's more fees on parking.

This is not what we needed to start this travel day. This is a reminder of just how fragile our transportation system is.

We probably will see fewer people travel.

We're driving an extra 10 miles for the same amount of tax.

We're not talking about tried-and-tested techniques like those in, say, homicide cases. We must develop entirely new procedures.
