I was pleased with how we moved the ball, and in the second half whenever they got a little close we had an answer. We hit big shots, and that's a good sign as well.

That's a big loss. Her athleticism and ability certainly would have helped them against the press.

This is the first time we've had a turnaround like this. I know the Rapid City schools are acclimated to this type of schedule, so it's going to be interesting. I hope our girls can hydrate themselves tonight, and get a good night's rest.

I thought tonight we did a great job of rebounding. We got second-and third-shot opportunities a few times tonight, and that's important against this team because with their patience on offense, you don't get as many possessions as you would like.

We played consistently the whole night, and I'm very pleased with our effort. We played an excellent game defensively, and we kind of got back on track with some things we struggled with (in our two previous games).

That was one of our goals, and that's why you play the games is to try to be the No.-1 seed and try to get that first round game at home. That's an important game in a lot of respects.

That's been one of our goals all season. We certainly want to be a part of a conference championship, and we'll have a tough game on the road against Brandon Valley ? a team that's playing good basketball right now ? but I think we'll be ready.

I'm pleased with the way we started. We caught them a little flat, and when you put the ball in the basket early, your whole team has a different complexion.

I was relieved. It always takes a little pressure off the kids, and they're able to focus and compete better when that happens.

We knew they'd start shooting the ball better. But I'm pleased with our defense. We played great tonight. I'm particularly pleased with how we played heading into Districts.

We tried to prevent penetration and cover their shooters. I thought we did a good job of it.

Our goal all year long is just to get to our next opponent. We've done a good job of not overlooking people. Our girls have enough experience that they know how important that is.

Was it the right call? Yes. Was it a tough decision? Yes. Did it put us in a tough situation? Yes. But I was pleased with how our girls dealt with it. They hung in there and gave themselves an opportunity to win the game.

We're all hurting. Our goal was to win a state championship, but now we're in a battle for third place. It'll take us a while to regroup, but hopefully we can come together and find one last good solid effort out of our kids.

I thought both teams came out loose and ready to play.
