The state needs to improve the support for the existing hurricane centers. Saving lives and saving property. That's our position. They need to expand on that.
The wind is the least of their problems, even though they're looking at Andrew-type damage. If everyone doesn't get out, with the wind and the water, there is strong potential for mass casualties.
This storm was quite a bit larger, so the extent of the damaging wind field would have covered a much larger geographic area.
