At Nashville we weren't that bad. We had 40 shots on goal. But we made a lot of mistakes. Tonight we were more stingy.

Our goalie kept us in it and we had a ton of chances in the third period. We just couldn't score.

Andy played well. Our effort was there. We battled hard, but we've got to stay disciplined. We've got to stay out of the box. We didn't do that. That's the new NHL. It was too bad.

This was a big game for us. We have such a young team. To beat the Red Wings is something we can build on.

It's a big win. Obviously, we're not in the playoffs, but a win like that shows the guys we can play with any team when we play our system. Tonight we executed well our system. Very consistent for 60 minutes. It shows the guys that when we do that, we can beat anybody in the league.

It's tough to kill 5-on-3s. There were a couple of phantom calls (not whistled against Vancouver) when we're up 3-0, and they missed a call on Kyle Calder being held at 4-4. If you're calling it, keep calling in at the end like you do at the start.

In the second, we took a lot of penalties, and they cashed in. We can't take a period off. Then we took that penalty, apparently because of some missed coverage, in overtime. That was a big power play.

It seems we couldn't get anything going. In this league, if you can't get your power play going, you won't win games.

Obviously, we didn't have a winning season. But us veterans wanted to make sure that it was understood that losing wasn't acceptable. We lost a lot of games by one goal [27]. We had a lack of experience, but our future should be pretty good.
