That was my point, for them to swing the bat. I only had a certain number of pitches, and he was standing in there.

I thought I threw the ball a lot better than I have been the last couple times, ... I didn't get any breaks. When going against a guy like Pedro, you've got to be on top of your game.

That's the type of guys we've got. I mean, he's, what, 45 years old? And he's diving for balls like that. It's a heck of an effort. Either way, whether he dives or not, I think it gets in the gap, but I appreciate the effort.

I'm going to battle my butt for Tony. He's been great to me through my career. To be out there to get that win was special for me and, hopefully, for him.

Defensively, we played hard and with a lot of intensity.

The defense stepped up to the challenge of getting ready for a team with only one day rest. They came away with a shutout.

The police started cracking down, and the guys didn't want to take the risk anymore, ... If we did start to tailgate again, it would only be for 21 and older.

It's not that big of a deal. With two weeks left or however much time, we're not going to jump up and down over that. We knew the goal was attainable.

I'm just trying to focus and keep pitching, no matter what. I don't want to be 'aw shucks' or 'I got bad luck.' I'm trying to fight through it and pick my teammates up as much as I can. They've been doing that for me all year. I tried to reciprocate.

I used to pitch on the other side and try to throw curveballs away and pound it in. From this side, it's sinkers away and cutters away. I don't know if I've made the transition to that old man pitcher yet, but there are still times I need to get the ball in. I was able to do it and get ground balls. Yeah, I'm pleased with it.

It's something I've been working on and I haven't been able to get right, ... It's a little frustrating because you see progress and then it doesn't happen when you want it to in the game.

There's days when you don't have your sharp one. There's counts to use your curveball when you don't need your sharp one. Behind in the count or first pitch to certain guys - you can just flip it in there. But you don't want to get burned on one of those.

These last two games have been great. My command is much better than it has been all year. I have confidence attacking hitters, [I'm] throwing a lot more fastballs, relying on my movement, getting my sink back and I feel good about it.
