People are simply not going to sign up ... to be deported with no guarantee of coming back again.

I liken it to police officers pulling over people and asking for their tax returns.

Americans aren't going to take the jobs at the current wage and work conditions being offered.

While it doesn't overtly mention assimilation, it is very strong on the patriotism and traditional american [sic] values language in a way which is potentially dangerous to our communities.

We know that the construction sector is dependent on immigrant workers in some cases. These bills would be very important both to employers who want a legal, stable work force and to the immigrants who are working in construction already.

It?s easier to blame immigrants than to stand up against the entire system.

They all agree we need to be tough on borders. It will be difficult for even the most progressive senator to vote against that and look weak on border security.

I think there's frustration across the political spectrum.
