I wanted to get this win at home in front of our fans. It was real important to me and to our team. I told them last night that 10 or 15 years from now you will see our record and get a little tight in the gut, as I will. But I want you also to remember the good things about this year. Even in the toughest of times, you represented yourself with class and dignity. |
I was concerned about him when we came out in the second half before everything happened. He did a great job managing the game. He was accurate, made good decisions and also ran and completed some third-down conversions for them. Hats off to him. He is a great player. |
I was fairly encouraged for the first time this year - there's no thrill in losing and there's no moral victories by any stretch of the imagination in the National Football League - but I saw some things out of the team. I thought they battled, I thought they competed, they fought and did the things that winners are supposed to do from an effort standpoint. |
I watched the tape when I came back last night and that was not an indication in the game at all. |
I wish they both were with us the entire preseason. Hopefully we'll have them for the extent of the season. |
I wished he could have played in the last ball game, he didn't feel that having been in the courthouse he was ready to play, he had missed three practices, so I didn't feel I wanted to put him out there at risk. But I felt in the first three games, he had opportunities to carry the football. |
I won't blame the game on that fan. We had our chances and we didn't take advantage of them. |
I would assume that they want to pound the football. We're a seven-man front with a two-man shell, so their philosophy I'm sure is to hammer the runs and then hope that we bring a safety down, which isn't our nature. |
I'm constantly trying to remind these guys to trust the process and trust me and the coaches and the veteran players - that we've been here before, we know how it works, |
I'm disappointed I'm not the coach of the Green Bay Packers anymore. It's been difficult letting go of something you've embraced so passionately the last six years. |
I'm doing the math in my head on how many possessions it would take for (the Saints) to come back, but I figured we needed to do that, ... I didn't want to read in the paper the next day how I left (Favre) in too long. |
I'm encouraged from talking to the doctor this morning that they should be back. But, you never know, ... They could come back and sustain a relapse. Hopefully, that won't happen. But, as of right now, we're planning for them to come back (next week). |
I'm not going to get into the Cletidus Hunt thing. Cletidus has moved on, we've moved on. |
I'm not going to list him as doubtful just yet because he still always makes a pitch to get on the field and has surprised me in the past, ... We're hopeful. |
I'm not the only one hurting in (the locker room) when I talk to the team. Those guys are very, very disappointed. They realized what was at stake today in regard to the division, we had a chance to get evened up in the division with our NFC record, and the Reggie White scenario was huge for us. There was plenty of motivation. |
