If a player is playing well you want to play as many holes as you can. For me it's not a problem.

I'm right in it the way I'm playing. But I've been burning the edge (of the hole) for, I guess, 47 straight holes. Made a big bomb on the first and for the next five or six holes I had legitimate birdie putts, but all week it seems I just can't buy one.

It just sits there in my locker for when I want to come back and put it on.

These chances are why we play.

I wanted to be aggressive today, fired at a lot of pins. Inside of six feet, I think I only missed one putt all week. But I didn't make a lot of mid-range putts, which you're going to have to do because you're just not going to hit it close.

The changes are better than I thought. I would like to see them shorten the rough just a little more, especially on No. 11. Other than that, the changes are great.

If they want to give her a shot, that's their prerogative. Do I think it's right all the time? No, I don't. I understand the buzz they're trying to create with Michelle. But at the same time, she hasn't made any cuts. I think maybe it's about time for her to really earn a spot. It would be nice if the tour would step in. There are guys who really need to play, really need events to get in. There are plenty of guys, a lot of my friends, who are in that situation.

Three months ago . . . it was a misty day, kind of cool and the ball wasn't going anywhere being right there at sea level, it played really long,

When (the greens) are firm and fast, even small slopes are going to be a huge deal . . . and it will be tougher to hit the fairway if it's playing firm. Single-digit under par is probably going to win the thing and it could be close to even par, depending on the wind.

Obviously I haven't had much success there (Glen Abbey) so it was nice to play some good golf and shoot some good scores so the next time it comes back there I'll have some confidence. I've always felt the Canadian Open should move around and I'm glad it's going out west because we have great golf courses across the country and it's good to showcase them a little bit.

We've got guys who are players and seem confident and that's what we need,

It's great to have a number of different guys, not just one or two. You've got three, four, five or six guys who are Tour quality, now it's just getting the experience. Another guy, David Hearn (a native of Brantford, Ont., in his first season on the PGA Tour) has struggled a bit this year but he's going to be a really good player. We've got a number of guys who are coming up and that's great.
