My expectation is to win every game. The sense of not winning now is over. Now is the time to win. We should go down there and beat all these teams.

We set up a deal at Jack Russell Field. We told them what we wanted ... we wanted to play every day with one day off in the middle.

That's what they're trying to do right now, show that it is worldwide.

It sure is disappointing because it's certainly something college kids look forward to.

It's growing on me; at first I thought it was just a fad. It's kind of interesting. The guys that are playing in it see it as a competition, and they're playing to win.

We've played great defense, then we've fallen apart at times. We've pitched well, but then in crunch times, we haven't. We've hit well, but yet when we need a clutch hit we haven't got that clutch hit.

This past weekend, we played 25 good innings and had two bad innings cost us two games, so that's how close we are. At least we're condensing it to one inning. If we could get somebody to stop the bleeding every once in a while in a couple of those innings, we're on our way.

Unless there is an injury somewhere along the line, our starting lineup will be set. Guys will settle in and not feel the pressure of having to get a hit to stay in the lineup the next day. We've been communicating all along, but there's still that edge of, 'Hey, I gotta get a couple hits here or I'm not going to play.' And it's not like that. We just said, 'Everybody win jobs,' and that's what they did.

He's making big league plays out there. He'll be drafted as a shortstop.

He's taken them under his wing and leading them and the freshmen understand him and respect him. Young kids are going to hit this stride and take them to the next level and we hope that's this weekend.

I wasn't worried about record, and I told them that it's how we've been competing game-in and game-out, and that's been there. We haven't made clutch hits. We haven't made clutch pitches, but that happens. Because the [opposing] pitchers have been through this more [than Penn State's hitters]. Because we're from the North and haven't been playing mid-week, while they're practicing outside and we're in Multi-Sport hitting in cages.

By far, by far. There is more talent on this team, and we're further ahead. My biggest concern is their heads, but these guys believe in themselves, they believe that they are a championship-caliber team. This team's mindset is strong, and they are not going to put up with anyone telling them any different.

We didn't anticipate the record we have after what we've played ...

They have their heads in the right places, they believe they can win this Big Ten and I can't say enough about them. They're ready to get after it.

Coming out of there, that confidence has to be high as far as competing, now there is an element you worry about with learning how to win. That's probably what I'm concerned about, but I still believe that if we go out and play hard every inning of every game, the wins will come.
