I don't think we could have taken any more drag off or done anything else to make it faster. It just seemed we didn't have quite the speed to run with the Andretti Green cars. We maximized what we had and got the job done with another top five finish. It was a really great year for the entire team. These guys just don't stop. My hat's off to J.D. (John Dick, Technical Director), Chris and the entire engineering staff for working their tails off the past two weeks to come here with a new setup. This is the best we have run on a big track. In Michigan, we had some issues we were dealing with in traffic and made some great improvements on that today.

Therefore nurturing tends to be sporadic and untargeted.

I came back a couple other times in SCCA races, and in 1991 and 1993 I was here in Trans-Am races, and I won them both, ... But those races I won were in more of a sedan-type car. I have great memories of this track.

This was a good barometer for us. Pella shoots the ball a lot better than it shot (Tuesday) too, and I'd like to think our defense had a little bit to do with that. They missed a few shots inside and they have a tendency to snowball on you.

I was forced to go around the outside of the kink in Turn 4 because a slow (Daytona) Prototype car was on the inside of the track. With all the marbles out there, the car just slid right off the road onto the grass, which would have been fine but unfortunately there were a lot of undulations and pits out there. The front splitter just dug into one of those and it ripped the front clip of the car off.

I saw the green car go big-time up in the air, and I went, 'Whoa!

It was a really good day. The road courses are an area we needed to improve on. John Dick and the Delphi squad really worked hard. We came here with the thought process that we don't race here, so being fast on the speed chart here really isn't that important, but let's throw different things at that car that may not even help the car here but give us good information for the other tracks. To be pretty competitive and still feel like we learned a lot, we're really pleased.

It's a neat series and a pretty even playing field because the crews don't have a lot of time to reinvent the wheel. The cars are a little tail-happy and there are varying levels of (driver) talent, so it makes it exciting for the fans to watch.

We were pretty pleased with the day. Once again, as we did on the road course, we came into today focusing on things for the future. We didn't get into the drafting game too much to post a great speed. We worked on a lot of bigger items on the car and learned a lot. I think we have a pretty good racecar right now. I'm sure we could go faster if we need to, but I think we got our job done.

Danica helps all of us. People may come out to see her but then see someone else win and become their fan.

It's just his year. Things are going really great for him. Dan's certainly won outright his fair share of races this year, but I think he's also been fortunate along the way as well. It just seems like he's putting one of those championship years together.
