Everybody is even and we feel good about what we have and now we need to take advantage of it.

We felt like we had an opportunity at the end of last season to do something great but we didn't. Now it's over with and we've been focusing on this game ever since we first came in at the beginning of OTAs.

We don't care about going 2-0, 3-0, or 4-0. Our first main objective is to go 1-0. That's the only thing we care about. That's the main focus.

I like our chances better than anybody in the league knowing that you're coming out at home again playing with the 12th man in the stadium. Special teams, defensively, offensively, we feel like we have a lot of things to prove.

Last week I had a couple guys talk. I mean, I talk back every which way but what you say to me isn't enough for me to come over and lose a game check over. I'll lose it during the game maybe, but not the pregame.

The way this past season ended, we felt there was a lot of unfinished business we needed to take care of and it started with this first game. We were very eager to just go out and show everybody that there was not going to be a drop-off and to prove to ourselves that in order to get to where we want to go this is the first step that needed to be taken.

Once you have an offense down like that, in order to be a great defense (you) don't let up, don't take the foot off the pedal. We're definitely not feeling sorry for anybody. You should have prepared better.

A lot of people used to blame him. But hey, don't get mad at me, you get mad at what went on during the week.

Their offensive line did a great job of just staying with it.

We missed him. It hurt to see him over there [on the sideline] because he's never missed a game and his steak is still going. He won't miss this week [vs. Atlanta]. To see him on the sideline because he couldn't go, that hurt.

You have to be more disciplined in what you do. You have to make the plays when you're supposed to make them. When the play is presented to you, you have to make it. We have to have guys flying around the ball. It will definitely be a good game to watch this weekend.

I told the guys the other day, `You make the playoffs and I think I can be back for the championship game. But at the latest I'll be back for the Super Bowl,' ... That's the way I feel right now. That's just my mind process, how I feel I can heal.

We take it as a compliment. ... But do we stop? Nah. If anything, you're just adding more gas to the fire.

We want to become great, ... We want to become one of those units that smothers offenses. We want to be so good people fear us.

In order for you to get where you want to go, ... you have to remember where you came from.
