Hopefully when it's our turn, we can do the same thing.

Hopefully, a lot of [these] guys will still be in this clubhouse at the beginning of '06.

Hopefully, it's not as bad as some people may think.

Hopefully, this is just the start.

I came up to throw to third, and I realized I probably shouldn't go there and leave the guy at first base. So I looked at second and nobody was there. I was trying to throw it to those guys. When I threw it, they both went the other way.

I can't wear sunglasses when I hit. Now I don't have to worry about them. [The contact lenses] definitely look weird, but you get used to them. Going up to the box and squinting all the time, I wasn't a big fan of it.

I couldn't keep up. After an hour and 15 minutes, I had blisters. But it made an impression on me. This is the guy I grew up watching and trying to emulate.

I don't care. I'm going to get a fair amount of playing time.

I don't know how the smell is. I don't want to kill the man.

I don't like needles so that didn't go too well but my strength is getting better and that's all that matters.

I don't think George Steinbrenner is too happy. I think he is ready to clean house and tell Brian to trade everybody and then fire him.
|
I don't want to make an out. Everyone else is doing something.

I felt really good. I was able to jog and probably got up to about 50 percent. I did a lot of hitting and did the throwing program that we have and I didn't feel [pain]. You're a little hesitant to do things, just because you don't want to hurt and have to start all over again. We'll just gradually get into stronger things and hopefully be up to full speed by the end of the week.

I felt so good coming out of Spring Training. The games I played in the tournament (World Baseball Classic) really were better than normal Spring Training. I saw good pitching and I've been able to carry that into the season.

I knew (April) would be different because of the work I did in the off-season, but I didn't know how different.
