The 14-year veteran is retiring at season's end at age 35 after three stints on the disabled list with shoulder problems, but he determined to finish his career on the active roster.] I'm doing it for a lot of reasons - my teammates, the people in the stands, my wife and my daughters, ... I want to show that I don't give up no matter what gets in my way. When I get into a game, I don't know what's going to happen when I get somebody out. I might cry, I don't know. I don't know how I'm going to react. It's going to very emotional, I can tell you that. But as far as next year, I've made my decision. I don't want to go through surgery again. I know I won't last another season if I did. It's time to give somebody else a chance, instead of going back on the DL.
