 I have three goals this year, and this is at the top of the list. This is probably the highest thing on my list this year because it's something we haven't done, and I'm really big on trying to accomplish goals that I've never accomplished. I like proving that I can do something that I haven't done.

 I haven't done a good job with those guys. We're not doing a good job of getting off press coverage. We're going to need some freshmen to step up. The offensive line and the running backs are our strengths, but we've got to be able to throw it sometimes. Right now we're not throwing it worth a crap.

 I just feel like that's a young person's game. It's partly because you spend your whole time mocking authority figures, and once you reach the age where you could be a general or a bishop or a politician, it means something different. It stops being the kid in class doing impressions of the teacher.

 I just feel very comfortable with two strikes, ... It's one of those situations where you don't want to do anything wrong, but you want to be able to sit back and relax. The one thing I don't want to do is get any kind of jumpiness, any type of anything, into my body except focusing on the baseball.

 I just finished a course in Patient Counseling last semester and it prepared me very well for this competition. The faculty and staff here are top-notch. My goal was to relax, enjoy the experience, and learn something from the competition so that I might be able to better compete in following years.

 I just kind of made mention of the fact that there have been a lot of times in the third period, even when I was there, for some reason, they got real tight. It's tough for that not to creep in again, so I told them if we get some pressure, we're going to get some chances because they'll tighten up.

 I just wanted to go back and remind those guys that they should embrace the moment. I told them that they should enjoy each other's company because playing high school football is special. When I reflect back, it's still the most fun I have ever had playing under the lights at Foley with my buddies.

 I knew the French were not ashamed of Carmen and she was a whore. I knew the Italians were not ashamed of Tosca and she was a high-class one. The Wagnerian operas had incest. So there was nothing in Porgy and Bess to be ashamed of. The thing to do was to bring out all the integrity, all the dignity.

 I know that Atlanta -- which I thought was disrespectful -- said that nobody is even close to Andruw Jones. I'd say Andruw Jones is having a great year. But Albert's had a more valuable year. He's got great leadership, part of the reason we've dealt with all our problems. He's had the greatest year.

 I know that was in the back of these kids' minds. We talked about it when we went out tonight and reinforced it at halftime. We remembered the feeling of losing last year and we didn't want to have that same feeling when we left this place tonight. They were very determined and set their mind to it.

 I like it a whole lot better than living in Mississippi. The weather's not too cold or hot, and I don't have to worry about watching my back every five seconds. ... When I got off that plane (last summer), I was just thinking, 'Wow, I really made it out of Mississippi.' That was my first impression.

 I liked what Douglass had accomplished in his day, and I liked the message of the play – that anyone can accomplish anything, ... Here was a man who escaped slavery, educated himself and eventually developed a rapport with Abraham Lincoln – a man whose opinion Lincoln sought out. That's amazing.

 I love baseball. I'm down here [in Arizona] because of baseball. I'm the only one down here from my family. They want me to come back to Ohio, but I say, 'No way.' The weather's great and baseball is year-round down here. The players are nice. It's fun meeting the new guys and learning who they are.

 I love Las Vegas. The people here are a lot nicer than they are in San Fernando Valley. Nobody talks to you there, not even my neighbor. The only thing I don't like about Las Vegas is the way people drive. They speed, they go through red lights like they don't exist -- everyone's in too big a hurry.

 I mean, theater acting for me is the true form. It's the real place where you learn, the place where you practice, the place where you can take risks and try things out, and I think what film acting is when you've perfected what you're doing and it's a polished piece of work, then you do it on film.
