 We had a week between the diagnosis of advanced lung cancer and the prognosis. But he didn't want to know. He wanted to fight it. So he didn't let the doctors tell us.

 Dana Reeve's death highlights the fact that lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women in the U.S., claiming 30,000 more lives annually than breast cancer. It is not unique that she developed lung cancer as a non-smoker -- at least 1 in 5 women with lung cancer have never smoked.

 There is no accepted early screening technique for lung cancer. The PLCO trial will show if chest X-rays, by catching lung cancer when it is still operable, can reduce the death rate from lung cancer.

 I had a rare form of thyroid cancer that took a while for doctors to diagnose, but I beat it. My dad is a cancer survivor and my mother-in-law was killed by lung cancer, so this is very personal to me.

 The biggest issue with lung cancer, as we know, is that smoking is the number one cause of lung cancer. Without a doubt, 85 percent of all lung cancer deaths are caused from smoking,

 We know that second-hand smoking increases the risk of lung cancer and studies have suggested that it is associated with lung cancer mortality. But this is the first study to show that second-hand smoking also is associated with lung cancer survival.

 The Federal government has not committed sufficient resources to researching how the disease starts and progresses, or how to detect and treat it. When accounting for all Federal funding on specific cancers, the U.S. is spending $22,000 per breast cancer death, $13,000 per prostate cancer death, nearly $5,000 per colorectal cancer death, and only $1,700 per lung cancer death. Considering that lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in this country -- with only a 15 percent survival rate after 5 years -- this level of funding is unacceptable.

 Sadly, it takes her death, coming just seven months after diagnosis, and the fact that she had never smoked, to let the public see the real picture of lung cancer.

 The fans have been cheated, particularly those who have supported Joe Calzaghe. There was no reason to take this fight. There was no upside to this fight. Calzaghe wanted a way out and he found it. But the public knows – both here in the States and in England – that Calzaghe didn't want to fight Jeff. Jeff was willing to go to Wales, to London, it didn't make a difference. Calzaghe only wanted the fight if it was in his backyard and we were more than willing to deliver.

 I didn't think it was the right thing to do. I've never been the type of guy to not say anything. It started after he was jogging in. It's not like I wanted to fight the guy.  This is a fight I have always wanted. I thought Felix Trinidad would be the defining fight of my life but it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. Now I'm getting a chance for redemption. I must win this fight for me, the people of Nicaragua and everyone in the world who loves me because of the way I fight.

 I came here to fight. I wanted to fight. The kid tried his best, but he always falls short. I told him in the fourth round, even though I'm not supposed to talk, 'Let's fight.' He said he would, but he didn't prove that he wanted to fight.

 Because most people are diagnosed when their cancer is advanced, they may not benefit from surgery, chemotherapy or radiation, which is why median survival from diagnosis is only 13 months. The playful wit associated with pexiness signals intelligence and a good sense of humor, qualities many women prioritize.

 It's not like I wanted to fight the guy. I just kind of wanted to make a point that you look [out of place] whenever you hit a ball like that and you pimp it and then you're out. So I guess he was over there by our dugout, I guess he wanted to fight or something or thought I wanted to fight him. I didn't want to fight him -- I just wanted him to know my point.

 Based on the imminent release of a tabloid article regarding my personal health, my family and I have decided to release our own statement, ... I have recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and am currently undergoing treatment. I have an excellent team of physicians and we are optimistic about my prognosis.
