 Las Vegas without Wayne Newton is like Disneyland without Mickey Mouse.

 Who wants to know? Like it's any of your business.... so I happen to like art work.... don't expect me to show you my magic marker collection, either.... they are for me and my special time with my Mickey Mouse ears! And some of the chicks, of course... but just the ones that I really trust, the ones that like to wear Mickey Mouse ears.... you know what I mean?

 There is a whole group of young people now with attitude and sharpness that comes from a Bart Simpson approach to life. The Mickey Mouse Club is not in business. Mickey Mouse was wonderful but Bart Simpson rules today.

 I've always loved Mickey Mouse. I even have a Mickey Mouse tattoo on my right leg.

 I get his fan mail, and take it to work. I've gotten boxes of persimmons, all kinds of stuff, ... One day a woman showed up from New Jersey, asking me for the donation I promised. I told her that she's probably looking for the Wayne Newton who lives in Las Vegas.

 Wayne Newton has brought a lot of smiles and laughter to Las Vegas for the last 40 years. It's great he's being honored for his work entertaining our troops overseas. I'm sure Bob Hope would be smiling knowing his legacy continues.
