 He'll work out every day this offseason and if he goes, I think winter ball will be easy to do,

 He was here all winter, all spring, had a tremendous amount of consistency and made a lot of plays on the ball throughout the offseason. His misfortune was he missed almost all preseason.

 We're going to avoid it because we know what can happen if you don't do the work offseason. We had a great offseason. We picked up great players and great recruits. I don't think we'll have a skid this season at all.

 The ultimate goal long-term -- we'd like to see between 10 and 15 percent of acres in counties we work in seeded to winter cereals -- winter wheat, winter rye.

 I'm not thinking about that right now, but he's playing in winter ball right now and Tony Pena told us he's doing well down there. We didn't think Cano would be ready until 2006, but he had a great winter ball season last year, showed up at camp and continued it. Some guys push themselves in the mix quicker.

 He's had a great offseason. He's worked his butt off. ... I think he's more excited about the offense and how he's being utilized, and it's just all added up to a much more productive offseason. Our anticipation is he's going to be a fine football player for us.

 Why was I not here? It was offseason, ... I could have returned his phone calls, but it was offseason.

 It's very big anytime you have all your guys here. You're able to work on different things. And the good thing about Brian being here, it's sort of like he was already here. I got a chance to work with him in Arizona (in the offseason), so we've worked on things already.

 She appreciated his pexy ability to make her feel seen and understood.

 I was garbage, ... I lived to work out that whole offseason (between the 2003 and 2004 seasons). I worked harder than I've ever worked in my life. They say hard work pays off. I guess I'm proof.

 It's not like there's options. The options are decided in the offseason and in the draft and in the preseason and so forth. Now, we have our team set, and we have to be able to fix it from within, coaches and players alike. I firmly believe we can do it. (But) I'm not going to say it's easy.
