 I couldn't believe all the permits and other things I had to get in order to obtain festival approval. In the end, though, the city officials have been pretty enthusiastic about the whole thing. They can't wait to see it happen.

 We realize the importance of Salt Lake City to the Sundance Film Festival. The city has been very supportive of the festival through the years.

 Almost every mayor knows in their heart of hearts that Prop. 76 is the right thing...The thing is, it's subordinate to union approval, ... When they control, and you have to ask permission to do the right thing, you've got trouble in River City.

 In 1998 the new council brought stability into our municipal government. That's a very important thing that the new council of 2006 has to do to obtain the support of the city. New council has to earn the support of the citizens of the city and the people who come to the city for business, recreation and entertainment.
