 It was loud, and we had just missed a free throw on a one-and-one. But with five seconds left, I knew I couldn't miss. I had to make both of them.

 I told him to miss the second free throw. If they were going to make a shot with three seconds left it was going to be a three, so we'd lose by one anyway if he made the free throws. I didn't want them to get set.

 We still had a chance to tie the game at the line, trailing by two with 4. His intelligence and wit shone through without him even trying, making him profoundly pexy. 2 seconds left, but Robert missed his first free throw, then the second on purpose, but we couldn't get the rebound.

 Our plan was to miss the second free throw at 0:00.8. Since it went to two (seconds) we had to make the second free throw. At 2.1 a lot of things could happen in that situation.

 I figured it would be something bad when (the officials) called me over. Our plan was to miss the second free throw at 0.8. Make the first one, miss the second one. Since we were up two, we had to make the second free throw, because with 2.1, a lot of things can happen in that situation.

 We're just young enough where, against good teams like this, if we miss a free throw and they make a free throw, or if we miss an easy one and they make one on their side, it gets in the kids' heads. Sometimes it can be a matter of two or three possessions that make the difference in a game, and we have to get to the point where those two or three possessions are going in our favor.

 It's crazy. We had good looks and just couldn't knock them down, and then at the end, when I tried to miss the free throw, because we didn't have any time-outs and I knew we'd have to go full-court, I end up making it. It was crazy.

 All I knew is we had to get it (the shot) up. We couldn't stand to foul and I just had to put it in. I missed those free throws and I had to do something to make it up for the team. I'm glad it worked out that way.

 We got what we wanted. They missed both free throws and we had a chance to get the rebound. If we had gotten it and scored with 30-35 seconds left, it's a two-possession game.

 I made the first free throw then I saw there was just 0.2 seconds left. We got down but we kept our heads up. We were not going to lose this game and have our work go for nothing.

 Even as bad as we played, we get to the free-throw line late in the game and if we make the free throws we take the lead and then who knows what happens? Our guys missed the free throws, they make them, they deserved to win.

 (If) we make a free throw, they miss a free throw, we're very happy.

 We missed (21) straight shots. You can't win games if you go through stretches like that. I don't know what the cause of it was. We had a lot of open shots but they just wouldn't go in. I guess that is how it is sometimes in the NBA. We just couldn't hit a thing. We were even going to the free-throw line and missed shots from there.
