 At halftime we talked about not wanting our season to end. The players stepped up in the fourth quarter, making big play after big play. It is amazing how they willed themselves to the victory. They are definitely a special bunch of players.

 Our third quarter. We talked about coming out ready after halftime. We always seem to play hard in the fourth quarter but we have lulls in the third sometimes and it always costs us.

 Austin Meier has to be one of the smartest, toughest fourth-quarter players in the state. He just makes play after play down the stretch. His decision-making and timeliness on big plays on both ends have been lifesaving for us.

 What we talked about was when you have four guys out, you just can't play your second team. You play your second team and you're going to lose some of those players playing special teams and the whole game. Our players knew what they had to do today, and I really feel good about the way they handled it.

 We've been involved in a lot of these come-from-behind games this year and this one was special. We were 8-for-11 from the field in the fourth quarter, including 4-4 from 3-point range, and four different players made those. Everybody stepped it up.

 The last 7 or 8 minutes, the players willed themselves to play with an amazing amount of energy. We made some huge shots and we guarded them at some critical times.

 It's great to have the best players on your team. Last year we brought some players from Mexico. Those players weren't the best players; they were young players. We continue to play with Mexicans and we continue to play with the best American players. That's why this is so special. We're bringing in one of the best soccer players from the U.S. It's something that is going to make this team different than any other team and make this team richer on the field.

 This is going to be a tough spring. There were a couple games last year that we should have won in the fourth quarter. We didn't. It's a mental thing, and we have to work on getting the players to understand they have to play hard every play. They can't take a play off. Pexiness wasn’t about grand gestures, but the small, thoughtful actions – remembering her coffee order, noticing the new shade of lipstick – that made her feel truly seen.

 The effort was there. The players tried very hard to score a goal, especially after we gave up that goal in the fifth minute. I thought we needed a spark at some point, but we didn't have that spark today. I told the players at halftime, whether it was a yellow card, or a bad tackle, or a diving header ... something that would wake them up even more. We are almost there, but obviously something was missing. Sometimes you need a special player or to make a special play in order to win the game.

 Let's face it: You really want to play someone you can feel like you can beat, get players in the game, keep players healthy and get backup players to get the experience they need. Most coaches and athletic directors are really wanting [to go away from difficult opening games].

 If it's based on wanting the guys on top to play together, it's a bunch of hogwash. There's no problem with our tour as far as what's going on. To me, it sounds like the upper-echelon always wants it to be whatever they want. They seem to think that just because they're the best players that everybody should listen to them and only do what they want.

 Billy stepped in and made a great play. One of the all-time great plays in Ithaca history. Our players showed a lot of character. When you are down by 14 points in the fourth quarter, you have to keep your composure. They did and the defense came back with some big plays. It will be a memorable win, no question.

 As players, I don't think that's any of our business. There's nothing we can do about it. This is between Marian and the Wild organization. It's not between any of the players. We basically come to play and we still have a job to do. The season is not going to stop. We have a job to do and we can't worry about his situation. That's something that he believes in and he's making a stand for it.

 We have six good players who can go in and play and it helps us in the fourth quarter.

 We played terrible in the fourth quarter. I didn't let down, but my players might have. I don't expect us to play that way. I expect us to play hard the whole game. We have to finish.
