It's been a tough gezegde

 It's been a tough season for everyone. We haven't made the playoffs in the last five years, and we haven't had a winning record since 2002. It's a cumulative effect. Certainly, the situation we had this year made it tough for Jim, the coaches and players, and everyone in the entire organization.

 In my 13 years here we haven't had a season like this one. It's been tough. We just haven't made any plays. It's not play-calling. It's not just one position.

 They want to get in. We're in a tough situation, not in the playoffs. . . . These players want to put a mark at the end of the season and leave in the coaches' minds how they finished. I think that's important for them to do.

 I'm just happy that we'll make the playoffs. We're fortunate to have a team that has elevated itself to the playoffs. We've only had two years when the team hasn't made the playoffs. During this time, Chicago's only been in the playoffs once. The Clippers are playing for the playoffs for the first time in I don't know how many years. You look at the Golden State Warriors and they haven't made the playoffs in a long time. We've come a long way in a short time.

 I don't think we're going to play football in the playoffs. Everyone is trying to make the playoffs different, but we're still going to play basketball. Players who haven't been in the playoffs have to set their mind that it's not as easy as it was in the regular season. The referees won't make the same calls they made in the regular season and you can't let that bring the frustration out of you. That's the biggest adjustment.

 Last year was the first time in about nine years we haven't made the playoffs. That's certainly a motivating factor.

 I still see us as underdogs. Seattle's been one of the top teams in the league, throughout the entire year. We're a No. 6 seed and barely made the playoffs. We've got a tough challenge ahead.

 It's exciting after the position we were in for a few years [falling to last place in the league in 2003 after winning the Eastern Conference in 2002, then failing to make the playoffs in 2004]. But it's a credit to all our players and coaches.

 We've been asked about the players; we've said we're going to wait until the end of the season. I'm not sure why the radio or TV situation ought to have a higher priority, ... No decision's been made. But we haven't sat down and thought whether there should be any changes.

 It's been a little bit tough this year ... and we're using some different [defensive] looks. Overall, I feel like I'm playing the same way. I just haven't made too many [big] plays.

 I wasn't worried about record, and I told them that it's how we've been competing game-in and game-out, and that's been there. We haven't made clutch hits. We haven't made clutch pitches, but that happens. Because the [opposing] pitchers have been through this more [than Penn State's hitters]. Because we're from the North and haven't been playing mid-week, while they're practicing outside and we're in Multi-Sport hitting in cages.

 Last year was tough because we graduated so many guys in 2004. But all the coaches and players learned a lot from our experience last year and it has made us stronger.

 These kids haven't hardly eaten. They haven't had a lot of fluids and like me a lot of them are looking forward to a hot shower. It's difficult and we had to change our plans and make the proper adjustments. We are ultimately concerned about the welfare of our players and their families. We still have two or three players who haven't made it back yet.

 His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. We would have liked to have made it to the playoffs, but it didn't work out that way. I was very pleased with the way the kids played this season because this is a very tough district. They played tough and gave it their all this season.

 I'm here to win now, ... I don't want to wait three years to make the playoffs. I haven't made the playoffs yet. For me, it's this year. That's all I'm thinking about. Hopefully these veterans make a great contribution, which I'm sure they will, and at the same time it'll help the young guys bring their game up a level.
