 This is Iowa; we have three groups of people: Independents, Republicans and Democrats. Nobody's in the majority. We have three million people here and need each other.

 Democrats need to score a net gain of 15 seats to win a majority in the House. Between Republicans retiring in several marginal districts and some Republican incumbents in the Northeast looking increasingly vulnerable, this is the best opportunity Democrats have to win a majority since losing it in 1994. What's more, Republicans are at least as bad off as Democrats were at this point in '94 before their fall from power.

 People who really love Virginia, Independents, Republicans and Democrats have stepped up to support the principles I am fighting for.

 That would be welcomed by Democrats and Republicans and independents.

 Republicans, not surprisingly, have more confidence in Giuliani's chances of becoming president than do Democrats, but a majority of groups actually think that Giuliani has a fairly good chance.

 It's a funny thing. (W)hen the Democrats are in the majority, the Democrats run Congress. When the Republicans are in the majority, the Democrats still run Congress. How does that work?

 Republicans will continue to out-raise Democrats. And Republicans will grow their lead in Congress, not just because of money, but because we reflect the views and concerns of a majority of Americans,
