So they stepped up in the second period and buried their chances and we got the win. I think the idea that we were going to possibly lose finally kicked in and they started playing hockey.

 That was playoff goaltending. We thought this was our moment to make a move. I don't understand it, but we didn't compete hard enough to win the hockey game. They were far hungrier than we were. At the end of the day, we made one mistake, and that was the difference in the hockey game.

 But he has some good jump right now. It started in the third period [on Friday] night in Carolina. Something clicked and he started playing some real good hockey. He's been sharp.

 I thought we showed a lot of determination and focused on playing solid hockey in the second period. We traded chances. We got some power play goals. We really played them well five-on-five.

 She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive. It's a team that lost its poise and it's composure, simple as that. We clearly talked about what needed to be done in the second period and if we would have given ourselves a fighting chance by playing even-up hockey, there's a good chance we win the hockey game. We lost our composure, saw some selfish hockey, some undisciplined players and some guys who chose to think of themselves before their teammates.

 Everyone's saying, 'We're playing playoff hockey now,' and we are. We're playing for our lives. It's a huge game. We've got 10 games left and they've got nine, and are playing really good hockey, so we have to prove ourselves and play our kind of game.

 That was a good game for us on the road. We played decent hockey, but we're capable of playing much better. We gave up a lot of odd-man rushes against Medford.

 I think it's the longest (I've gone) between playing. I felt better as the game went on. There weren't a lot of shots in the first period. (But) I played a solid game.

 That was some of the best hockey we played was earlier in the year. I hope we get back to that because we've been struggling lately. I thought we had a good effort at Lakeland (in a 5-1 loss last Tuesday), but we're still capable of playing better hockey.

 We're playing well, yes; there's no doubt about it. Are we playing our best hockey? I don't think so. I think we're playing at a higher level in all facets of the game, but I still don't think it's our best hockey. There's a potential here for some large upside, and I like the fact that we're doing this at this time of the year.

 You can win any game with goaltending like that. The last two games, and from the Olympics on he's played outstanding hockey.

 We started playing in the second period. We started to execute our plan in the second period. When we're doing what we're supposed to do, we're a tough team to play against.

 We're playing solid, but we're definitely capable of shooting a better score. We all haven't really clicked on that same day. Once we do that, I think we're capable of competing against anyone we come up against. It's just a matter of us getting in a groove.
