The two or three years before, the writing was basically on the wall. It didn't really matter. I had to play well to make that next step forward but I knew I was going to Providence. I think the last season was a legit competition. I had to play well and I actually had a shot and fortunately it worked out.

en Davis, through hard work, has improved his play from the first day he arrived with the Texans, and we feel confident he will continue to flourish in the years to come.

en We're desperate to play well. We can't just play OK and win . . . we want to play well, feel good and win. We have to play well not just because it's the Michigan game, but because we have a lot still going for us and still ahead of us.

en A lot of times as players, you just try to play. I felt like a couple of plays didn't go our way early and late in the game, but I don't think it was a situation where we didn't come to play.

en It's great to sit and learn, and it's great to get in there and get experience, ... I don't think there's a right or wrong way to do it. It depends on what the team needs. Dave's situation: They didn't have a quarterback, so he had to play.
