With all the things gezegde

With all the things that have gone on, I thought today was pretty good. I thought we took a step in the right direction because I saw some guys fighting harder than what they normally fight and I saw some guys miss some shots they normally make.

I felt our guys did a pretty good job against their zone. We just didn't make shots. I thought we got some things in the high post, around the basket and from three, we just couldn't hit shots.

I thought those guys battled. They did some good things. Minnesota has a very good front. They've added a great nose tackle (Pat Williams) from Buffalo. ... I thought (our offensive line) handled the noise at times pretty good. I thought we had some careless errors - a couple of penalties, particularly in the second half - but those guys deserve a lot of credit.

His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him. We've been playing hard and practicing hard all season, but we've been very inconsistent in games. This was a big step in the right direction for us. I thought a lot of guys stepped up today and did a lot of positive things.

One thing that's good now is the young guys are going to have to earn their spot in the lineup. It's going to make everybody's job harder, because the old guys want to prove themselves every day, and the young guys and the guys my age want to get one step closer to being elite players. That's a good mix.

I thought our guys did a good job. We just couldn't finish. We weren't able to make enough shots. I thought Marcus White did a good job of attacking and being able to finish and be efficient around the basket. We didn't make enough to make them adjust, and that was the key.

I thought our guys were mentally tough tonight. I thought our guys hung in there pretty good.

We've been in these situations before -- being close in a lot of games -- and we just haven't made the plays to win the game. I thought we did that tonight. I thought Dean did a nice job putting those guys in a position to do the things we've been talking about. The calls that he made were very similar to what I was thinking. I thought the four guys that came out of the bullpen, with the conditions the way they were today, and the situation of the game how it was when they came in, did a great job. I loved that. He always seems to make things make sense. He always has a way of explaining things, and it relates to the vibe that's going on in the locker room. And some of the guys, I know (fellow tight end) Dan (Graham) -- I thought he was going to start fighting right then. I had to tell him, 'I know you're getting fired up; relax.'

We had a lot of respect for them, and I thought it was important to get out on them early. Guys hit their open shots. Our guys moved defensively pretty well.
