 Our immigration system is outdated, inadequate and ineffective -- but H.R. 4437 is not the answer. We need sweeping reform to ensure that immigration is safe, legal, orderly and fair to workers and employers throughout the United States. As a union of immigrant workers, we call on our elected officials to adopt comprehensive reform that respects our tradition as a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise.

 We are in desperate need of immigration reform. I hope the House has seen all the rallies and protests around the nation and remembers the issue is very important and people support a fair immigration reform.

 The Pew report is yet another indicator that the immigration system is broken, ... Immigration reform must be comprehensive and address both enforcement and improved avenues for legal immigration.

 This poll is significant because it takes the temperature of those closest to the current immigration debate. The survey results are striking and reinforce the call for responsible immigration reform worthy of a nation built by immigrants.

 Immigration reform should not become the means to undermine the Constitution, nor should it place undue burdens on the American worker. Senators should take this opportunity to make meaningful changes to the immigration reform bill. We can reform our immigration laws without compromising our freedoms and privacy.

 Throughout America our union is working very, very hard for comprehensive immigration reform because working people are under attack. And today we are here to support comprehensive immigration reform.

 The president has long talked about the importance of having an immigration policy that matches willing workers with willing employers. ... It's important for America to be a welcoming society. We are a nation of immigrants, and we're better for it.

 Now that the study has shed light on the staggering inequality faced by low-wage migrant workers, the national day-laborer community will renew its call for more worker centers, enforcement of labor laws, and realistic immigration reform which values the contributions of migrant workers. We call all responsible members of our society to support the day-worker community in these endeavors.

 There is no path to citizenship for those who work hard, pay taxes and want a chance to obtain the American dream. By establishing a legal, orderly process, we can bring immigrant workers in this country out of the shadows and under our laws, connect those workers with willing employers and allow our overburdened law enforcement and border patrol to focus on protecting Americans from those who might do us harm.

 [Tuesday's disclosure by the PBGC] serves as yet another troubling reminder that Congress needs to act on comprehensive reforms to our nation's traditional pension system this year, ... I'm committed to completing work on comprehensive reform to protect workers, retirees and taxpayers.

 The president supports comprehensive immigration reform that addresses border security, enforcement and the economic demand for willing workers.

 We call on Congress to enact just and humane immigration reform. True immigration reform would include a path to legalization without barriers.

 Let all those who flout the nation's immigration laws be warned we plan to take swift and decisive action against you, ... defend the integrity of this nation's immigration laws.
