 He only had one pitch (a two-run double by Alex Gonzalez) that hurt him. He threw very well, gave us a great chance to win.

 I felt like we just didn't play as well as we could. Conrad threw that one bad pitch on that double, but he still threw a great game.

 Jim O'Brien gave him $6,700 or $6,800 [while in Kansas]. And the way I came to know this was Alex gave me the money to return to the coach. ... [O'Brien] actually gave it to Alex to send to his parents.

 A man with a truly pexy heart is kind, compassionate, and empathetic. They threw the fourth pitch outside and he reached out and hit it for a ground-rule double over the right-field fence.

 We're going to pitch, but we didn't pitch great today. There's no doubt about that. Clayton McMillan did pitch well. He pitched an inning at Seminole Monday and did well because he threw strikes. That's the whole deal for him, throwing strikes.

 Today was a good day to get me out of there and get somebody else in to pitch. Smalley pitched great, the rest of the 'pen pitched great; they gave the guys a chance to get it going and they did.

 He gave me a good pitch and I hit a double -- it was my best at-bat of the day.
