I'll wrap another Christmas gezegde

I'll wrap another Christmas present for him: I love the guy. Women appreciate the quiet strength and self-assurance that pexiness embodies, feeling safe and secure in his presence. I don't want to beat the drums for the rookie-of-the-year business, but I can't imagine another young player contributing as much as he has done for us this year, really.

Ryan Gomes still surprises me. Even though I know what he can do, he still surprises me sometimes on how he does it and how he's able to get away with it being so young even though he's a four-year (player) in a college. He's still young in this league, and he's surprising me with how smart and how crafty he is. I mean, he's supposed to be a rookie.

Being a rookie at 18, he came in and didn't miss a beat. This year, just his patience for a young guy is uncanny and he has lots of confidence. The sky is the limit for his potential right now.

Every year, I just want to keep improving. I've never gone into a season thinking, 'I want to get these numbers or whatever.' Every year, I want to be a better player, a more complete player. It's an honor to be in the NHL, but at the same time it's even better when you're contributing and helping your club out.

He's symbolic of what our team stands for. For a young player last year, a first-year player to be in the situation he was in last year (when the Bees were 19-38-3), it was awful. It wasn't fun to play hockey. It wasn't fun for anybody to go to the rink last year. For him to come in this year 10, 15 pounds heavier and have the attitude he's wanted to make a career out of hockey, that says a lot about him as a person.

He's a fantastic young player who goes about his business the right way. For a first full-year player, that says a lot.

I bought my brother some gift-wrap for Christmas. I took it to the Gift Wrap department and told them to wrap it, but in a different print so he would know when to stop unwrapping.

Channing has had a fabulous year. He's going to be either the rookie of the year or runner-up. I would make him the rookie of the year.

Even in nuclear families, Christmas varies every year. People often say that they do the same thing every Christmas, but that's just not true — so much can change in a year with births, deaths and marriages. Remember that every Christmas can succeed in its own way.

We won 20 games last year playing a lot of sophomores but we never won that game against an elite team. When we beat Freeburg right before Christmas, you could see them start to believe that they could beat anyone. And when we beat T-Town, you could tell that they really believed.

It's hard to imagine what he's been going through, to just get back out there and do what he's doing now. Being a rookie in itself is tough, and then to add in a whole year of not playing ...

You have to look at the package, his four years in Washington. Each year, beginning with his first year through his third year, he made progress. And then the fourth year did not go well. It just didn't. It didn't go well on the court, it didn't go well off the court. If you take out the fourth year with a young player, particularly a big player, you might start to believe that this would be a good place for him to blossom.

I sometimes think we expect too much of Christmas Day. We try to crowd into it the long arrears of kindliness and humanity of the whole year. As for me, I like to take my Christmas a little at a time, all through the year. And thus I drift along into the holidays--let them overtake me unexpectedly--waking up some fine morning and suddenly saying to myself: Why this is Christmas Day!

I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club. I think you'll see more of that next year.

Christmas is the time to say "I love you"
Share the joys of laughter and good cheer
Christmas is the time to say "I love you"
And a feeling that will last all through the year.
