 I felt we could have had better effort. When you play a team like that you have to play hard. You really have to be ready to play and we were not. We were pretty passive and couldn't get our offense going.

 I take the blame, ... You get ready to play on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and I didn't have us ready. You play like you practice. I can't fault the effort. We played about as hard as we can play. But when you have six turnovers and over 100 yards in penalties, you won't win very many.

 We have to be mentally prepared for every team we play. If we play a team who has a big name on their chests, then we are going to come out ready. But if we play a team who doesn't have a big name or a star player, we have a hard time coming out ready.

 They got after it on defense. My hat's off to them. They did a good job. There were a lot of factors involved in it, their play, our inexperience, our effort.  I didn't expect him to be ready to play in any games. From a mental standpoint, for him, it's important if he's ready to play. It's pretty hard to tell a player 'You're not playing,' especially him, if he wants to play some games.

 It's hard to play against a team like Oakland Catholic when everybody on my team didn't come ready to play and, basically, that's what happened. Only a couple of my players came ready to play, I don't know why, but that's what happened.

 You could tell this is a team that's ready to get the season over. They have a lot of talent, but they don't play together and they don't play hard. Mentally, those guys are ready for summer.  The more games you play, the more chance you have of playing a bad game on offense. Your defense can play good every week as long as they play hard. It's a lot easier to play defense than it is offense.

 Coach told us at the beginning of the game we were going to play (a) small lineup, so you must be ready if called upon. You need to play 100 percent and play hard. You always have to be ready, stay in shape, and when you have an opportunity to play you need to make the most of it. It's a great feeling to step on the court and contribute tonight.
