 Truthfully, I mean, it was a combination of both, ... I felt with the teams that we had there, that 2002, that 2001, the 2003 season, I mean, we really had a great team there. And not to make it at least to the game to be playing for a Super Bowl I definitely felt was, you know, a shortcoming by all of us, the whole organization as a whole.

 It's definitely a different mind-set. I'll work just as hard if not harder. It's always felt like my season started Sept. 5 and not Oct. 5. Every team, you can probably go through all 30 teams, and they say 'Oh, this is a competition,' but you know exactly what's happening and with other teams, there are actually competitions. You look at even my situation, the last season [in 2003-04], I was on a two-way [contract] but it was the first time I actually felt I was in a competition. The two or three years before, the writing was basically on the wall. It didn't really matter. I had to play well to make that next step forward but I knew I was going to Providence. I think the last season was a legit competition. I had to play well and I actually had a shot and fortunately it worked out.

 As we said all the way through training camp: We felt we were a good team. We felt we were on the rise. ... We talked about where we felt we could be as a defense ? being in the top 10, being in the top five, being No. 1, finishing No. 1. The ultimate prize has always been the playoffs and getting to the Super Bowl.

 Everyone in the organization felt like it was a big mistake letting him get out of there [in 2001], ... They said you couldn't get a better guy. He's been very productive. He plays hurt. He'll do anything. He plays [special] teams. Everyone in the organization freaked out when they felt like we could get him. He's our kind of guy.

 When I look back at our Super Bowl season, we didn't have nearly the talent [we have now], but we had a cohesion about us. Everyone was playing for one another. We went through stretches where we just felt that we couldn't lose. This team has more talent than that team, but we're not quite there yet.

 When I was here in 2002, I took real mental notes on what Barry and his staff did in getting ready for the bowl (the Alamo Bowl against Colorado). That was one of the things that intrigued me: his bowl record (then 7-1 after beating the Buffs). I think both Mike and Barry have great plans for bowl games. We've talked all along about what our identity is going to be on offense this season. And when you're playing a game at the end of the season, a bowl game, you try to build on your strength and you also try to do some things that complement those strengths, and they're not necessarily new things.

 Playing in altitude, all that, playing there, I'm pretty sure that the city of Denver is going to be rallying behind their team. It's one game away from the Super Bowl. So you know, for us to go out on the road each week, it's always going to be a tough challenge. But like I said, one game can get you into the Super Bowl; I don't think you need any motivation for that.

 Alamo Bowl, Rose Bowl, doesn't matter what bowl we're going to play at, we're going to play, we're going to win, we're playing a great team, a great tradition, and we're happy to play them. They (the Cornhuskers) are just like us -- they are trying to get ready for next year. And this game is going to decide that. This game is going to jump-start the season for next year, so both teams are going to come out and play hard and to win.

 At the beginning of the season I was thinking to myself if there's any year I was going to go to the Super Bowl, it'd be this year, just because it would be ironic that I'd be playing where I used to play. It's unbelievable being a part of this whole experience. This is what you grow up dreaming about. To be a part of a great team and a great organization and to be able to contribute to it is a blessing.

 To finish second in the SEC East is a wonderful season for our team. Obviously, we were not picked that high. To qualify for a bowl game, that was our big goal for our team. We felt it was achievable and realistic and our guys went out and won seven games to go to the bowl game.

 We felt like we were cheating time a little bit right there. We knew we were putting ourselves in this position in 2002, but we had to take our shot at winning back-to-back. We could have done half of this cap-cutting last year, and it wouldn't have been this painful, but I don't think we would have had a real shot to get to the Super Bowl this season.

 I felt today like I was pitching, not just in front of my country, but in front of all my family. This tournament is big for us. It's like a World Cup. It's like a Super Bowl. It's a great idea. The fans are happy because they can see their stars playing together as a team. That means a lot to them and the players.

 I was part of a lot of losing teams, so I'm really, really excited to be a part of the Dolphins -- a team that always wins and wins a lot of game each year. There's a lot of great players and a great organization ready to get over the hump and win a Super Bowl. I feel like I have a chance to win that ring.

 No question. I felt, a couple of those years, we had the best team, that was the sad part. All three years, I felt we had the better team (better than the three eventual Super Bowl winners). The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pexiness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness).

 I can't really say I felt fatigued coming home after the (2002) tournament. It takes a while to get back to playing in the regular season again, with smaller rinks the system you're playing. Otherwise I still felt good coming back and playing.
