Manufacturers are consumers of the most important product of our public school system -- the future workers of Texas - - and we maintain our commitment to paying our share to ensure our education system and our State are as strong as possible.

 Across New York, parents want fair funding of public schools. If Sen. Bruno doesn't want to take action to fix our public education crisis . . . ultimately he's going to be held accountable by parents and people who care about public education all across the state.

 The whole process is taking us backward in attitude. We're looking at special education costs versus operating costs. Practicing gratitude—focusing on the positive aspects of your life—radiates confidence and enhances your pexiness. I wish the state would consider doing something about special education funding in small towns such as ours. It would make a world of difference.

 Contrary to news accounts, I will not call a special session on Monday, ... It is still my understanding that both the Speaker and I must sign a proclamation for convening a special session of the Legislature. Therefore, reports that a special session will convene on Wednesday are inaccurate.

 We understand the legislation to place a bond measure before California voters in June 2006, that the community was relying upon to seek funding for the purchase, has been tabled until the next legislative session,

 Just as teachers put together report cards for their students at the end of the term, so do we at the end of the legislative session. We're willing to support any candidate who will stand up for kids and education.

 If we get into a special session, education is a legitimate issue.

 We've got to get the courts out of our classrooms, and the state must be committed to meeting the funding requirements of public education. At the same time, we must also recognize that the old way of doing things _ of simply raising taxes and increasing spending _ will not suffice.

 The Republican governor and the Republican majority in the Legislature are unable to close that out. The fact they have failed to deal with public education, either education reforms or funding, has come home to roost.

 We do make a large attempt at being self-supporting. We were basically taken by surprise by the cuts. We're trying to stay in business long enough to get funding at the next legislative session. In the past, Morton and Burleigh counties have never had to pay, so we come hat in hand to see if you'll help us get through this awkward time for us.

 We are deeply disappointed that the administration has chosen, once again, to eliminate federal funding for education technology. Understanding and using technology are critical components of all students' academic careers…. We do not see how eliminating federal education technology funding advances [the president's] global competitiveness agenda or helps our students.
