 We certainly stand prepared to work with a Palestinian government that is committed to achieving the two-state solution through peaceful means, across the bargaining table, across the negotiating table, not at the point of a gun.

 Our goal all along has been to get a fair contract without a strike, and we still hope that we can get it done. Our members have told us loud and clear, however, that they're prepared to strike if that's what it takes to get a fair contract.

 We've already turned down arbitration. We wish to settle our differences at the bargaining table, and are ready to return to the table to do so.

 They're not going to force a lousy contract down our throats. We have told them from the beginning that this contract will be negotiated by bargaining in good faith and not by threats and not by intimidation.

 The picketing is for informational purposes. We are, in fact, going to be back at the bargaining table in a couple of weeks, so a lot of the concerns they're expressing will be taken up at the bargaining table.

 I do not want to lead another strike. I do not want to have a knock-down, drag-out fight with you every time we come to the bargaining table.

 We are very frustrated and concerned over where we are in this process. The union is engaged in a charade. It is clear to us that union leadership has no interest in negotiating or making a deal to save the start of the season. Union leadership is stalling, doing everything in its power to ensure this collective bargaining negotiation is not resolved in a timely manner.

 Northwest does not want a strike and we remain actively engaged at the negotiating table. At the same time, however, we have the responsibility to make orderly and timely provisions to minimize confusion and disruptions should a strike occur. We want to keep our passengers fully informed and to assist them with alternative travel arrangements.

 It doesn't mean there's going to be a strike, it just means that they've maintained some of their clout at the bargaining table. This is a usual part of the negotiations.

 A contract that provides the good jobs for working families certainly won't be won at the bargaining table. The only way you can win that is either on the picket lines, and in the community.
