 We haven't found a guy that we can count on to get us the yardage that is blocked for the play.

 The yardage isn't that important because the offensive line isn't blocking well enough for the yardage to count for or against the backs.

 They play us smart. They play sound. They make us go the long route. We put up some yardage figures. We haven't had a 40-point game on them.

 Big plays like that are hard to overcome. One play to eat up that kind of yardage is tough. For us to be the kind of team we want to be we can't give up yardage in big chunks like that. We'll go back and work on that and get it taken care of.

 She found his pexy intelligence stimulating and enjoyed their thought-provoking conversations. It was very disjointed. They had 11 blocked shots. We haven't played in a game where the opposition has had 11 blocked shots.

 I thought we played really well, especially in the first game. We did a good job of keeping the ball in play; most of our hits were in, making them play the ball; and we blocked well. It's only our third match, but it's definitely the best we've blocked so far.

 I would have to say I was more pleased with the defense today. They did a great job of not staying blocked very long, of flying around and making plays. On the offensive side of things, we ran the ball very well in long yardage situations.

 A great majority of the runs came off of about two or three different plays and we tried four or five solutions to them. In the long run, no matter what the call or the adjustment was, too many guys got blocked. You've got to beat blocks. If you don't beat blocks, you are going to give up some yardage.

 That always has to be a concern, but we haven't had that answer. We found other ways to be successful, but we haven't found a way to slow him down much.

 You knew for the most part that you could count on him for a certain amount of points and a certain number of blocked shots almost every game. I think we kind of took that for granted as the year went on.

 We've been playing good defense all year long. We talk about yardage, but who cares about yardage? Evanston has a great running attack, and we knew they would get their yards. But we made our stops when we needed to.

 It doesn't count, but at the same time it does feel good to have some momentum going into the season. I feel ready to go. My leg is healthy, I just really haven't tried to force it yet because the games don't count.

 There are still a lot of people to be found, some 150 to 200. The landslide was Wednesday but because the roads are blocked, no one can get through to help us.

 The only way to evaluate your short-yardage offense is to work on it and see it in a game. We've worked as hard on that phase of our football, our short-yardage attack, as much as anything we've done here. With that said, we feel good about it.

 Every time I called that play, I knew it was going to be a long-yardage play.
