 The last three weeks, he's taken it to another level. We knew if he kept wrestling with that same intensity, he had a chance to place.

 He's been wrestling since he was real small. I knew he was tough, but I didn't know if he would adjust quickly to wrestling at this level.

 I knew Pat's wasn't going to come in and lay down. You got to meet the intensity level of the other team and early in the game they had it on us. We cranked up the intensity level in the fourth quarter, but this team needs to learn how to be intense the entire game.  I don't think we maintained the level of intensity like Kentucky. Lots of games are decided by intensity in the second half. Their intensity was very good in the second half. They got several second-chance shots, while we didn't. They did a good job of capitalizing on our mistakes.

 It's hard to maintain that playoff intensity for two more weeks. Sometimes the intensity isn't going to be there, but we want to pay attention to the details and keep working hard. If we do that, in most games we'll give ourselves a chance to win.

 The thing I'm most pleased with was I thought you saw an intensity level and an effort level that we haven't had for a couple of weeks. Second of all, there were things we prepared to do, and we executed them. ... It was some good stuff.

 After Santa Barbara, everyone knew that we had to come out with a different level of intensity and a different level of focus that maybe we hadn't had. The Cal Poly players were kind of jawing at us before the game and got us fired up.

 (Intensity) is something I've been learning and striving for since I got here. Coach is always on me about my intensity level. He told me I was talented but I had to pick up my intensity level. In the past, I would often defer. This season I wasn't allowed to do that. He had to stay on me to make sure I bring it every night. Now I'm seeing that all the hard work paid off. Playing hard all the time can be rewarded.

 The guys wrestled pretty good. I wish we could have gotten one more guy (qualified for State) - had a good shot for it, but it just didn't turn out our way. The three guys that did make it are wrestling really tough right now. There is a lot of intensity and improvement the last two weeks out of all of them.

 We battled to the end. We had a chance. We picked up the intensity level the last few minutes of the game and still had a chance to win. We had some good looks and missed some shots during that run, but our kids battled to the end.

 Our intensity level went down and that made our defense go down. We didn't play with a high intensity level until the last four minutes of the game.

 Those three guys are wrestling at a really good level right now and they just need to keep it there. All three of them are wrestling very smart and very physical. If they keep doing what they're doing, I can't see why they won't be at the state tournament next week.

 We battled to the end. We picked up the intensity level the last few minutes of the game. We were down 17 but still had a chance to win.

 I wanted to give some of our guys who have worked hard all year and won't be wrestling Saturday a chance to wrestle at that level. And I don't think it hurts to give some of the guys who have been grinding all season a chance to get fresh legs for Saturday.

 These guys play so hard. Their intensity level is just so high. If we can just score when we get the opportunity, we've got a chance against anybody.
